Feltwell RAF (Royal Air Force Station Feltwell) is a former Royal Air Force Station located in Feltwell, Norfolk, England. It was established in 1934 and was used as a strategic bomber base during World War II. It was home to a number of RAF squadrons, including No. 47 Squadron, No. 90 Squadron, and No. 97 Squadron. It was also used by the United States Army Air Forces during the war. In the post-war period, it was used for reconnaissance and long-range transport operations. Following the end of the Cold War, RAF Feltwell was closed in 2006, and its facilities were transferred to the United States Air Force as part of the USAF’s control of the nearby RAF Lakenheath. Today, the site is used by the USAF for various purposes, including intelligence-gathering and surveillance operations.
